After School Done Right

Cranford YMCA School Age After Care provides high-quality, dependable after-school care for students grades K-5 from Walnut, Livingston, and Hillside Schools.

This program supports working families by offering a fun and structured environment where children learn, play, and unwind each afternoon. Children also enjoy swimming once a week, adding an exciting highlight to their schedule.

  • 5, 3, and 2 day care available until 6:00pm
  • Children are bussed directly with Y staff supervision from their school to the Cranford YMCA at end of school day
  • Follows the Cranford Public School calendar
  • Options offered on scheduled early dismissal and school closings

Registration

Registration is first come, first served. Please note that 2 and 3 day schedules have limited availability, with more openings offered in the 5 day program option.

Fees & Payment Information

Registration Fee: $50/child

Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable

Deposit: Equal to one month of tuition for chosen schedule

Due March 10

Program Options

Care is offered until 6:00pm with 2, 3, and 5 day options. Child is required to be an active member of the Cranford YMCA throughout time of enrollment. Fee includes all costs, including bussing/transportation.

Days Offered:  Mon-Fri
Fee: $550/month

3 days/week

Days Offered: Mon, Wed, Fri
Fee: $370/month

2 days/week

Days Offered: Tue, Thu
Fee: $280/month
Our Staff

Our after care program is staffed by trained professionals dedicated to keeping children safe, supported, and engaged. Families can feel confident knowing that the program not only meets but exceeds New Jersey state requirements, including:

  • 10-20 hours of ongoing professional training
  • Certification in Basic Life Support and First Aid
  • Training in behavior management and bullying prevention
  • Status as a New Jersey State-Certified SACC Program
  • Staff-to-child ratios that exceed state requirements
Financial Assistance

At the Y, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to improve their health, enrich their lives, and feel more connected to the community. Financial assistance is available to individuals or families who cannot pay full program or membership fees and meet specific financial guidelines.
