About Our Y

The Y is Open!

As per Governor Murphy’s most recent Executive Order, beginning 5/28, masks and social distancing will no longer be required for fully vaccinated individuals ages 12+ at our Y.  Fully vaccinated is defined as two weeks after administration of the second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two weeks after administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.  Children ages 2-11, and those that are not fully vaccinated, will still be required to wear a mask when visiting the Y.  Please note that the Executive Order does not lift mask wearing or social distancing regulations for preschool or child care programs at this time. Some members, participants and staff may choose to continue wearing their masks and we ask that you respect their choice.

Your Safety remains our top priority.  Y staff will continue cleaning high-touch areas and we ask that you remain vigilant about hand washing and wiping down equipment before and after you use it.

Our Cause

At the Y, we focus on nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving our community’s health and well-being and giving back to our neighbors.  Everyone is welcome at the Y, regardless of age, ability, income, or background.  During these difficult times when tensions are high, the Y is dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion.  Our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility guide everything we do.

The Westfield Area YMCA has been proudly serving the communities of Westfield, Cranford, Garwood and Mountainside since 1923.  We are for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Community Resources
If you’re feeling anxious, the resources at Here2Helpnj.org are available.  We are also proud to be partnering with the Westfield Food Pantry to help those in need. Drop off non-perishable items in the large container outside the front door at any time.
