About Our Y

At the Westfield Area YMCA, strengthening community is our cause.

With a focus on developing the potential of kids, improving individual health and well-being, and giving back and supporting our neighbors, being a part of the Y will bring about meaningful change not just within yourself  but in your community.  Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, ability, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

    Open registration begins 7:30AM Monday, 10/16 for Program and Non Members. Priority registration begins 6:00PM Thursday, 10/12 for Gold and Silver Members. Fall 2 Session begins 10/29.

  • Togetherhood Fall Kickoff

    October 24, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

    Through Togetherhood, lead and participate in volunteer service projects that benefit the community. Utilize your ideas, skills and energy under the direction of a Westfield Area YMCA staff advisor, to improve the community. Interested? Learn more at our Fall Kickoff at the Main Y Facility: help us identify and plan projects and recruit volunteers, become a project volunteer,become a Partner Group--do you have a project that could use Togetherhood volunteers?

    Current projects: The Main Y, Bauer Branch, Early Learning Center and Garwood Family Center Y are all drop-off locations for the Westfield Food Pantry--help ensure the buckets are filled! Here 2 Help is a community-based coalition helping to reduce stigma and improve understanding of mental health issues--we need involvement to come up with creative ways to help disseminate this important information! The Y’s 7th Grade Initiative includes a Togetherhood xomponent. Last year, we partnered with Cranford Senior Housing--what will it be this year?

Bring ALL of your medication bottles (including over the counter and herbal supplements) and medication list for your one-on-one consultation with a hospital pharmacist.     The Westfield Area Y, in partnership with UnitedHealthcare, offers all 7th graders in our service area of Cranford, Garwood, Mountainside & Westfield FREE physical, nutritional, and educational opportunities, and a complimentary Westfield Area Y limited pre-teen program plus membership for the school year.     Free and open to community! Ryde4Life is a new transportation program for adults 50 years or older which will satisfy transportation needs not met by other programs.
