Westfield Area Y Early Learning programs strengthen families and boost youth development by offering preschoolers and their families a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop relationships and build self-reliance through character development and a structured curriculum.
We have full day preschool and half-day preschool options to meet the needs of your family.
All programs are led by experienced and caring staff.
Our day includes exploration and hands-on learning with art, dramatic play, building, nature and quiet areas; small group theme-based activities; a balanced blend of active and quiet times with minimum transitions, music and movement (indoor/outdoor).
Children become active and creative explorers while developing good habits and positive attitudes.

Half- Day Preschool: Garwood
At the Garwood Family Center YMCA, we believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve.
That is why kids at the Y cultivate the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement.
Half-day preschool is available for ages 3-4 from 8:45am-11:45am.
The program offers a balanced blend of social interaction and self-discovery through free play, art, music and learning centers. Indoor gym or outdoor activities are incorporated into each classroom’s daily schedule.
