When kids play sports, they get more than just exercise. Besides being physically healthier, they have higher self-esteem and a healthier body image.
Our sports camps emphasize healthy competition, teamwork and individual development, and most of all…fun! We focus on the life lessons to be learned from sports, and our counselors strive to instill positive self-image in each player.
Entering grades 1-5
Join us for a fun jam-packed week of sports and team-building! This camp offers basketball, soccer, Indian pin, the indoor climbing wall and more. Campers are divided into age groups for team play. Campers walk to Roosevelt School for outdoor field games. Full-day campers enjoy recreational swim daily.
Entering grades K-5
Get ready for fun-filled, action-packed days of soccer! Athletes of all ability levels develop skills, improve speed and agility, and learn the rules and sportsmanship of the game as played around the world. Shin guards and cleats are required. Campers receive a shirt and a soccer ball to keep. Full-day campers swim every afternoon.
TAE KWON DO
Entering grades K-6
This camp is led by Gedman’s Black Belt Academy of the Westfield Area YMCA instructors. Campers build confidence and leadership. Learn safety skills that cover bully prevention, how to be an “up-stander,” and face fears through board breaking. Basic/intermediate level self-defense techniques give campers the physical and mental strength to kick off the school year on the right foot.
Entering grades 4-8
This camp is devoted to one of the fastest growing sports in the country! Ultimate combines the non-stop action of soccer and the aerial passing of football in a fast-paced yet elegant flow. Beginners learn the basics. Intermediate players enhance skills and learn strategies for competitive play.
