Dear Westfield Area YMCA Members,
As we have previously communicated, since the government-mandated COVID-19 pandemic activity suspensions have continued, we believe the right thing to do is to credit every member account for membership and programs for the period of time we are closed. For those members who pay monthly, we do not anticipate executing a bank draft in April. Once we have the date that we are permitted to open our doors, we will be able to properly calculate and process the credits to your account. If you pay in full annually, we will adjust your expiration date based on the time we are closed.
As a nonprofit, the financial impact of our doors being shut with no revenue has already been devastating. As one of the largest community-based service organizations in the area, we know you rely on us. We are also one of the largest employers. That’s why we are establishing the YMCA Operations Recovery Fund. If you are able,we would be grateful if you would help offset this calamitous situation by donating your prorated March membership or program fee credits, your April membership or program fee credits of any other amount into a tax-deductible donation to the Y.
