Welcome to Camp
I hope you’re ready to have a summer full of fun!! Every week of Blue Sky is filled with enjoyable activities that make our camp special. Your child will hike through the Watchung Reservation, fish in Lake Surprise, visit the Trailside Museum, go on amazing field trips, and swim at the Main Y. Our campers will enjoy learning about all nature offers including various science lessons, animal life, and plant life in our backyard. They will also visit the incredible playground, make arts and crafts, and play group games/sports in the spacious fields.
What to Bring
Every day, except on trip days, you will need a swim suit and towel. You can also bring goggles if you think you’ll need them.
We suggest bringing an older backpack and lunchbox to store your non-perishable lunch, extra snacks, and refillable plastic water bottle. We bring water jugs to the reservation with us to stay hydrated all day. Please label your child’s belongings just so there is no confusion as to who it belongs to.
WE ARE A PEANUT AND TREE NUT-FREE CAMP! Please label if your child brings items such as soy butter or sunflower butter so we know it is safe to eat.
Drop-off time and location: 8:30-9:00am – Sign in at Roosevelt School Front Lawn
Pick up time and location: 4:00-4:30pm – Valet pick-up at the Methodist Church Parking Lot off of Ferris Street
To start our day off, we sign-in at the Roosevelt School. Then, we gather our equipment for the day and head to the Watchung Reservation. While at the Reservation, we run through a number of activities such as playing games, hiking, fishing, science projects, art projects, playing on the playground, and any special activities we have planned regarding the theme of the week. We also have a morning snack and lunch while at the Reservation.
In the afternoon, we pack up and go to the Main Y for swimming. When it’s time to go to the Main Y facility, we pack up our belongings at the Reservation and load everyone on the bus. We drive to the Main Y and unload on Ferris Place. We separate boys and girls and they go to their respected locker rooms, change, and put their belongings into lockers before going to the pool.
After swimming it is time to end the day and our campers go home to rest for the next fun filled day of camp.
