Preschool/Youth/Teen Sports Classes
Athletic Conditioning
This program is
designed to assist athletes in further enhancing aspects
such as stretching, resistance training, injury
prevention, flexibility, strength development/power and
speed agility/quickness. Classes take place twice
a week. The athletic conditioning classes are
designed to be an excellent complement to various school
sports. Monday classes will focus on the following
areas: flexibility, resistance training and injury
prevention. Wednesday classes will be geared
toward improving performance by developing power, speed
and quickness. For athletes ages 12-17.

Ballet
We introduce the fundamentals of ballet skills,
ballet vocabulary and creative movement. The
class also focuses on body alignment and improving
coordination. Children progress at their own
pace.

Basketball
Learn basic instructional skills for beginners as
well as advanced skills. The class consists of
drills, skills and game play.

Beginner Soccer
This is a great program for the beginner soccer player.
Dribbling, trapping, passing and proper shooting
techniques are some of the skills that are taught.
Every class ends with a fun game!

Cheerleading
This class incorporates arm techniques, voice
projection, articulation, basic jumps and mini routines.

Climbing
Children are introduced to the fundamentals of climbing
on our indoor climbing wall. Not only are climbing
skills taught, but the four core values of caring,
honesty, respect and responsibility are also intertwined
in the fun.

Fencing
Ages 7 and up
Come and learn the art of fencing from a nationally
ranked fencing instructor. Commonly referred
to as "physical chess" and also known as a martial
art, fencing improves your hand eye coordination,
overall physical fitness and flexibility all while
having fun. Fencing teachers discipline,
patience and confidence. This elegant sport is
the perfect blend of mind, body and spirit that will
positively affect your life.

Futsal
The Westfield Area Y, together with BRUSA, will be
offering Futsal, the internationally known form of
indoor soccer. Futsal is a great skill developer
and requires quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin-point
passing. our clinic will be taught by a Brazilian
soccer player and coach.

Indoor Soccer
This is a great program for the beginner
soccer player. Dribbling, trapping, passing and
proper shooting techniques are some of the skills that
are taught. Every class ends with a fun game.

Playtime Adventures
Preschoolers, along with their parent or caretaker
participate in group activities that help develop
dexterity, flexibility and gross motor skills. A
fun array of equipment is used during indoor gym.
This class provides a great opportunity for parents
to
connect with each other.

Sports Sampler
YMCA coaches focus on a wide variety of sports
for youngsters ages 3 to 6. Fundamentals, teamwork
and fun are the name of the game as we make our little sportsters feel like sports stars!

Kids Clubhouse
1 1/2 hours of sports, play, gym equipment and arts and crafts
especially for children ages 3 to 6. This is a great alternative to babysitting.

T-Ball
The first half of the session will focus on hitting,
catching, throwing and running the bases. The
second half concentrates on putting all of these
together in game play.

Tae Kwon Do
This popular program develops your child's
self-confidence, self-discipline, self-defense, flexibility, agility
and overall physical fitness.

Yoga for Kids!
This class is geared toward children ages 7-13.
Imagination and creativity will be combined with
yoga asanas to increase your child's concentration
and flexibility.
