Get started on your health & wellness path at the Y

We have a number of free programs and tools to get you started!  And personal training is a great way to have to get one-on one or small group attention.  For more information on any of the programs below, ask any Y Trainer, at the Welcome Center or contact Lynne Applebaum at or 908-233-2700 x239.

FREE orientations are available to new and existing members.  During the orientation, a Y strength trainer will work one-on-one with you to get you started on a workout program tailored for your individual needs.  You will be shown how to properly set up the equipment for your height and body structure, how to perform each of the exercises, and how to progress each workout.  Common questions such as: “How do you use this machine?”  “Am I performing this exercise correctly?”  “Something does not feel right, can you help me?”  can be answered.

With our certified staff’s guidance, you will feel safe and comfortable so you can begin and continue on the path to achieving your fitness goals.

FREE for members!  Whether you are a newcomer to fitness or a seasoned exerciser, FitStart uses ActivTrax, a web-based system, to help you meet your fitness and nutrition goals.  ActivTrax creates a new workout for you every time you exercise to reflect your progress, goals, and preferences.  Your custom workouts will keep you challenged, interested, and goal-oriented!  The nutrition component complements your workout routine and considers your activity level and lifestyle.  Set up a free orientation to set up your custom profile and first workout.

FREE for adult members, this personalized, small-group support experience is led by a Y certified fitness professional.  Workouts are in a private environment.  Learn how to properly use equipment and track your progress.  New groups begin often! 

FREE for full-facility adult members and “On The Way” members, this 8-week program is perfect for men and women over age 40 who are ready to get started on the path to living better. This friendly, supportive exercise program is led by a Y certified fitness professional.   Join in on your own or with a friend!  Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend sessions will offered at various locations.
