Whether due to unemployment, poor health, financial hardship or special circumstance, people struggle to provide for their families. The Westfield Area Y has been responding to the needs of individuals and families in Westfield, Cranford, Garwood and Mountainside since 1923.
Thanks to the Strong Kids Campaign, the Westfield Area Y provides approximately $300,000 in direct financial assistance to approximately 300 individuals in need every year. No one experiencing a bona fide financial hardship is turned away for inability to pay. The majority of assistance is provided to enable children to attend our full day child care, school age child care and summer day camp programs. The remaining amount supports membership and program participation.
At the Y, we nurture the potential of kids, promote healthy living and foster a sense of social responsibility. We need your help to ensure that no one is denied a chance to participate because of an inability to pay. Only by working together can we give more kids the opportunity to grow strong in spirit, mind and body.
