School Age Child Care
The School Age Child Care (SACC) programs of the Westfield Area Y provide children Kindergarten - 5th grade with a fun and safe learning environment before and after school. It provides an extensive array of services to parents to ensure that their child care needs are fully met, including transportation to and from school.
Programs include: Before/After School Care, Kindergarten Wrap Around (a.m. and p.m.), Vacation Fun Club, and a Snow Day Plan for when schools are closed.
Our programs follow the Y of the USA curriculum and are New Jersey State Licensed. Our caring and dedicated staff are Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Epi-Pen, Asthma, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention certified. Planned activities foster respect, honesty, caring and responsibility in the children we serve. Children enjoy arts & crafts, science experiences, cooking, recreational activities, Healthy U, and playground time. We have an "open door policy" and welcome parent participation. A scheduled time for homework is included Monday-Thursday. Each day a healthy snack is provided.
We also have School Age Programs at our other sites which include: a Club Mid Program (6th-8th grade) for Edison and Roosevelt Middle Schools in Westfield, in Mountainside and at Garwood Family Center Y. Please click the appropriate links for details on those programs.
