Preschool Health Regulations

State law requires that no child be permitted to attend school unless a medical form is on file PRIOR to the date of entrance.  Each child must have a yearly physical examination and a medical form signed by the examining doctor and returned to us with an updated health history immunization record.

The health and well being of all of the children is the primary concern of the Y staff.  All classroom staff has had first aid, CPR, epi pen and inhaler trainings.

In order to protect the children in our programs from communicable diseases, the staff at the Y follows strict procedures for sanitation and hygiene.  The tables are washed and sanitized before eating.  The furnishings are cleaned on a regular basis.  All staff are trained in proper diaper changing and hand-washing procedures.  Children wash hands with soap and running water upon arrival to school, after using the toilet and before eating.
